2007 Sauvignon Blanc This is quite unlike most Kiwi sauvignon blancs, partly because it’s from Hawkes Bay winemaker Alan Limmer. I like it a lot. Intense lime-juice aromas, fully ripe and rich in sweet citrusy fruit, despite just 12.5% per cent alcohol. Eminently drinkable. 91/100 Best Import, Huon Hooke, Good Living, June 24 ‘08 2006 OV Gewurztraminer Intense Gewurztraminer in a full-bodied and reasonably dry style, with opulent Turkish delight characters, together with an influence of clove and ginger. Silken texture and length. One of the best from a top producer. Bob Cambell 94/100 2005 OV Chardonnay This is a stylish and sophisticated Chardonnay from their original plantings. The delicate bouquet reveals creamy, leesy characters with subtle, toasty oak. The rich and rounded palate has excellent concentration, soft creamy texture and fine acidity. It is impeccably balanced and has a fabulous length of flavour. 94 pts Five Stars Wine Orbit, Independent Extensive Monthly Wine Review 2006 Syrah Very deep dense red. Very fine fresh nose laced with white pepper aroma’s , dark berry fruit and gentle background sweetness. Fine and densely flavoured, with spice and black berry fruit, even a hint of anise.
