clos Clare forms part of the famous Florita vineyard and is now in the hands of Sam and Tom Barry, son's of Peter Barry of Jim Barry Wines fame. The story of clos Clare is quickly growing into what will be one of the great wine stories of the Clare Valley. It begins in 1986 when the Barry family purchased the Florita vineyard from the then Leo Buring owners. This vineyard produced for many years the great wines of Leonay and Richmond Grove. Warilto, the homestead on the property was sub-divided and offered as a custodianship to artist and building conservator Ian Saunders. A small parcel of the vineyard was included in the sub-division and clos Clare was born.

The enthusiasm of Sam and Tom Barry has brought new life to clos Clare and we believe there is an exciting future ahead with the Riesling vineyard capable of being one of Australia's finest.
