Frankland Estate
Situated in remote Southern Western Australia is the Frankland River region that was defined by renowned Californian
Viticulturalist Dr Harold Omo in a 1955 study of potential viticultural sites, as one of the most promising prospects in Australia.
Judie Cullam and Barrie Smith's Frankland Estate wines are the proof that he was right displaying finesse and balance and a true
expression of cool climate winegrowing. Riesling is a real focus for Frankland Estate, indeed there are now 5 distinct Riesling wines
in the lineup, including the "Isolation Ridge" which is something of a Western Australian benchmark, and the 2008 Smith Cullam Ð
a new wine made in the off-dry Germanic style; and a product of many years of ideas sharing with some of the top producers in
Germany and Austria. Hunter and Elizabeth Smith are now very much involved in the day to day running of the wine business,
ensuring that the estate remains in very good hands for many years to come.
