Mount Mary is one of the great small wineries of Australia, established by Dr John Middleton in 1972. Production is tiny. Mount Mary is noted for both its character and the high quality and individuality of its wines. Since the first vintage in 1976, Mount Mary has established itself as one of Australia’s most highly regarded producers. The vineyard faces due north and captures optimum sunlight during the growing season. New French Oak plays an underlying role in the style. Owing to vine age, the wine has become richer and more complex during the 1990’s. It exhibits a purity of fruit, poise and structure found in few Australian Cabernets with cedar and blackcurrent aromas, fine grained savoury tannins and superb flavour length. 

Dr David Middleton and his team are continuing Dr John’s traditions, and indeed Mt Mary is poised to go onto even greater things in the coming years.
